The contemporary metropolis is made up of a multiplicity of layers, physical and immaterial, of chaotic signs that have given rise, even in a short time, to very rapid transformations. Many of the changes that have affected our cities – and the areas surrounding them – concert major infrastructural routes that cross territories and mark their presence sometimes quite indifferently to the pre-existing spatial structures. Within this dynamic complexity, therefore, two aspects are particularly evident: on the one hand, the great mark of the infrastructure, the re-signification of which is capable of giving way to new urban components including the design quality and verification of public space; on the other hand, the presence of the territory, the physical site of this crossing and, at the same time, a scenario of exceptional importance for conceiving the same idea of the city. Through some recent case studies carried out by the French firm TVK, this paper aims to dwell on a creative and associative methodology to interpret the large signs in the territory and their contribution to the modifications of large infrastructures, so as to give a new possible measure (at a human scale) with respect to these signs, heirs of a mega-scale culture.

Abstract
Through some recent case studies carried out by the French firm TVK, this paper aims to dwell on a creative and associative methodology to interpret the large signs in the territory and their contribution to the modifications of large infrastructures, so as to give a new possible measure (at a human scale) with respect to these signs, heirs of a mega-scale culture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
