Abstract

During the post-World War II period, England implemented an ambitious plan of reconstruction, for the recovery of destroyed areas and the design of new districts and cities. As part of the transformation, interventions for new power complexes, which altered extensive rural areas, assumed prominence. By analyzing characters and landscape mutations at Gale Common (Colvin, 1962) and Wylfa (Crowe, 1969), the text highlights permanent qualities and transitional forms of large-scale energy landscapes, assessing their ecological content and future potential.
