In the La Sassa cave (Sonnino, LT), four excavation campaigns led to the discovery of a deposit ranging from the Late Pleistocene to the present day. From the Copper Age to the Middle Bronze Age (MBA 1/2), the cave was used as a burial place. In the MBA 1/2, some (possible) cultic activities also took place. In this paper, we present the fauna remains and the potsherds collected in the sounding SP. Here, the stratification has been partially reworked during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. However, the potsherds, which can be mainly dated at the beginning of the MBA1 subphase, show a strong influence from the southern Protoappenninico facies. In the next subphases (MBA1B and 2) some northern influences (Grotta Nuova) can also be traced. In these subphases, the area of the sounding SP probably served as a passage to reach the burial places in the so-called room 1 and 2.
