In the second half of the 1960s, when Chico Buarque was at the start of his musical career, he was introduced to the famous writer Clarice Lispector. Almost half a century later, their encounter is relived, in fictional form, in the short story “Para Clarice Lispector, com candura” (2021). Through the construction of a sophisticated and disorienting intertextual game, Buarque weaves a passionate tribute to Lispector, redeeming the faults of the young artist, who, at the time, was still unaware of the beauty of her literary work.
