The essay seeks to investigate the extent to which Reinhold’s Synonymik (1812) is involved in the controversy over divine things that has erupted between Jacobi and Schelling since Jacobi’s Von den göttlichen Dingen (1811), through the references to Jacobi contained in the Synonymik. It moves, to do so, from the discussion initiated by Reinhold in Briefe an Jacobi (1802), in which Reinhold criticizes Jacobian faith as a subjective intuition that does not rise to the level of thought. The essay then identifies, in some passages of Von den göttlichen Dingen, possible, albeit not explicit, responses of Jacobi to that criticism, insofar as Jacobi overturns on the conception of thought of logical realism the accusation of subjectivism and emphasizes the philosophical value of faith as intuition. From this reconstruction, Reinholdian claims in the Synonymik of the value of a critique of language for resolving the secular contrast between faith and knowledge can be understood in a critical light toward Jacobi.

Abstract
From this reconstruction, Reinholdian claims in the Synonymik of the value of a critique of language for resolving the secular contrast between faith and knowledge can be understood in a critical light toward Jacobi.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
