Abstract

This Doctoral Thesis focuses on evaluating the benefits and challenges associated with utilizing the Same Beam Interferometry (SBI) in the context of a lunar navigation system. The primary objective is to demonstrate the effectiveness of this technique in extending traditional deep space range and range- ratemeasurementstoenhancepreciseorbitdeterminationofthenavigationsystemconstellation. The work addresses key questions such as the requirements for implementing SBI in a lunar scenario, the performance improvements and the critical issues that must be resolved when integrating same beam interferometry into orbit determination processes. By exploring these questions, this thesis aims to provide valuable insights into the practical applications and potential advancements of SBI for deep space missions.
