The Amalfi coast is full of traces of the ancient defensive systems, both from the Angevin and Vice-Real eras, which tesitfy to the original unitary character that has now been lost. This contibution aims to retrace the events of the defensive buildings located along the coast of Positano, and through the analysis of two case studies, Torre Sponda and Torre Fornillo, we also want to question about the role that these buildings play today and the problems relating to their protection and conservation.
