The lack of a global shared practice in urban archaeological research techniques on the one hand, and the need for protection against infrastructural phenomena of the historical substrates of European cities on the other, promoted after the Second World War a heated international debate that recognized in the Venice Charter a starting point for the validation of global principles in archaeological excavation materials. Starting with this document and continuing with the London Convention (1969), the Amsterdam Charter (1975), the Lausanne Charter (1990) and the Valletta Convention (1992), the importance given to the coexistence of cities and archaeological remains has become central in the urban reorganization. Therefore, through the analysis of subsequent regulatory outcomes and significant urban projects, the contribution wants to reflect after sixty years from the Venice Charter on the possibilities of reconciliation between urban planning and conservation of archaeological heritage.

Abstract
Therefore, through the analysis of subsequent regulatory outcomes and significant urban projects, the contribution wants to reflect after sixty years from the Venice Charter on the possibilities of reconciliation between urban planning and conservation of archaeological heritage.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
