The rubbles of Damascus represent a complex phenomenon, reflecting the succession of civilizations in this ancient city, as well as the scars of the recent war that has ravaged the country since 2011. They contribute to understanding the historical formation of the city , while also posing significant challenges to future reconstruction and urban recovery. This research will therefore attempt to go beyond the material value of these rubbles and read their symbolic value in an attempt to understand the positive and negative experiences that this city holds for its inhabitants and the necessity of utilizing them in its future reconstruction.
