La gente sta male: psicoanalisi selvaggia nel 1980

«People are not ok»: wild psychoanalysis in 1980 · This paper makes a foray into the development of psychoanalytical and psychiatric culture in extraparliamentary movements and in the Italian left wing in the late Seventies. The printed sources therein reviewed (mainly «Lotta Continua», «l’Unità», «Il manifesto») give a few cues for reflecting on the relationship between the left wing and psychoanalysis, placing emphasis on the increasing importance it took on the background of the psychological distress that was spreading among young people and that took a long time to find an answer. From such perspective, 1980 is singled out as a peculiar year, in which the connotations of the new experiences in group psychotherapy (with a focus on Massimo Fagioli’s collective analysis) powerfully and publicly came to the fore.
