The Transitional Impact Scale (TIS) quantifies the magnitude and quality of changes resulting from transitional occurrences. This study aims to validate the Italian translation of the TIS, test its operative characteristics, and investigate its factorial structure with an analogous form for future events. We present preliminary data from a cohort of 144 participants (mean age = 22.75; Male = 45). Participants have been administered with the Italian version of the TIS, concurrently providing narratives on past and future transitional events, and completing the Beck Anxiety Inventory and the Impact of Events Scale - Revised. Furthermore, each transitional event underwent evaluation based on criteria to assess Self-Defining Memories. As expected, Confirmatory Factor Analyses found the same factor structure in the Italian translation of the TIS for past events, but not for future events. Nonetheless, both past and future transitional events met the criteria required for classification as Self-Defining Memories. Results will be discussed on the background of the relationship between transitions, self-defining memories, and stressful experiences.

Abstract
Results will be discussed on the background of the relationship between transitions, self-defining memories, and stressful experiences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
