If the protagonists of the construction of the Charter of Venice of 1964 are Pane, Gazzola, Lemaire and Philippot, it seems appropriate to also mention Minissi’s direct contribution without forgetting the reception of Brandi’s theory. Minissi attended the Congress and presented a report. Among the cornerstones of his speech are some concepts. «The most important problem to be solved is to arrive at absolute conviction [...] evaluating what the monument will gain and what it will lose according to a scale of values». In his speech, the rapporteur insists on «not concealing any of the monument’s parts» and presents the advantage of «differentiation in matter and time». He goes on to point out, among other things, that «[...] the transparency of the material ideally tends to transform the restoration carried out into a graphic superimposition, realised in the space of the integrative hypothesis. Therefore [...] the restoration work should remain on a theoretical level as far as possible, avoid the falsification of definitive superstructures and increase the possibility of further studies and consequent new restoration hypotheses and solutions». The reality of the interventions implemented is even more explanatory if one thinks of Piazza Armerina, Heraclea Minoa, San Nicolò Regale, and many others.

Abstract
The reality of the interventions implemented is even more explanatory if one thinks of Piazza Armerina, Heraclea Minoa, San Nicolò Regale, and many others.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
