In XX century, several of restoring interventions on historical heritage of the seismic area in central Italy, were made by use of concrete reinforced, hidden in the structures of buildings. These interventions, presumably, have altered the structural reaction to seismic events, as evidenced by the 2009 and 2016 earthquakes in these areas. The results of these interventions are still to be investigated, in perspective of conservation of the cultural heritage in areas heavily at risk in future earthquakes: case studies like San Pietro ad Alba Fucens and San Pietro ad Oratorium are emblematic of the approach to restoration in XX century. The objective is, by archival research, a deep knowledge of historical architectural issues, including ancient materials and techniques, and a conscious use of non-invasive diagnostic tools, to predict potential damages to the objects of study, in order to implement the method of planned conservation.

Abstract
The objective is, by archival research, a deep knowledge of historical architectural issues, including ancient materials and techniques, and a conscious use of non-invasive diagnostic tools, to predict potential damages to the objects of study, in order to implement the method of planned conservation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
