Influenze e riflessi della Carta di Venezia in Spagna (1964-69). Gestione e tutela delle città antiche

The influence of the Venice Charter in Spain still requires a complementary study to critically evaluate its reception. The contribution intends, therefore, to examine this historical period, through unpublished documentation from var-ious archives, and highlighting how, in our opinion, this has been undervalued. Gabriel Alomar's work as General Superintendent, through some policies for the protection of the so-called Conjuntos Histórico-Artísticos, was intended to introduce a different way of dealing with the traditional setting that failed under the speculative pressure of the 1960's. Nevertheless, they are an example of the influence of international institutions in the renewal of the culture of restoration in Spain.
