La regione interna della Palestina a sud di Gerusalemme nella West Bank: recenti scoperte a Betlemme

The joint Italian-Palestinian mission of Sapienza University of Rome and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Palestine – Department of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of Bethlehem (MoTA-DACH), funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Sapienza, between 2015 and 2023 worked in the territory of Bethlehem, surveying and verifying the state of conservation of archaeological sites, historical and cultural monuments, as well as monuments dating from the Bronze Age to the Islamic period, in order to promote their protection, scientific study and tourist enhancement. To this end, an archaeological map has been drawn up, accompanied by a detailed catalogue, of the city of Bethlehem and the region between Bethlehem and Hebron, which is constantly updated and expanded.
