The Safe Bridge project aims to provide solutions for the geomatic monitoring of transport infrastructures (bridges and viaducts), capable of integrating the already installed structural monitoring devices, if any, to reduce time and costs, and overcome limitations (primarily the difficult accessibility of the infrastructures) for the evaluation of the state of conservation of critical infrastructures. In detail, the Safe Bridge goal is to develop a systematic, continuous and large-scale service based on monitoring geomatic techniques both from satellites and drones, complementary to those already used by ANAS, the end-user targeted by the project and responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of 18,600 road bridges in Italy. The service is intended to be applicable both to transport infrastructures and to the territory in which they are located, often subject to natural events (landslides, subsidence, soil deformation due to geological/geophysical phenomena, etc.), potentially risky for people and the infrastructures themselves.
