Analysing Venice Charter Implementation in Italian Experts-Led Restoration in Iran: Methods and Approaches

This research explores the lasting impact of Italian experts in Iran's architectural restoration between the 1950s and 1970s, spanning pre and post-Venice Charter eras. Employing a multifaceted approach, including analytical descriptions, comprehensive bibliographic research, and theoretical-critical analysis, we delve into their restoration methods and the Venice Charter's influence. Through field trips and interviews with Iranian collaborators, we address key questions about post-charter alignment, method evolution, and lasting influence on Iran's restoration practices. Findings reveal a strong correlation with Venice Charter principles, underscoring the enduring impact of Italian experts in shaping Iran's architectural heritage restoration.
