This article looks at the “function of the procurator” in relation to a recently published latin inscription from Bedjene (Algeria) which mentions the freedman of the Severian period, Nicocles, procurator regionis. The analysis relating to this freedman is extended to the administrative structures and their developments in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD
