Morte e trasfigurazione di Leonida (a proposito dell’oracolo delfico nr. 100 Parke - Wormell = Q 152 Fontenrose)

The paper aims to illustrate the sophisticated structure and the relationship to Homer and Hesiod of the Delphic oracle concerning Leonidas and the Battle of Thermopylae, with special attention to the final three verses, as well as the oracular tradition and the narrative context in which Herodotus put the oracular response (VII 220).

Il contributo intende illustrare l'elaborata struttura e il rapporto con la poesia epica dell’oracolo delfico relativo a Leonida e alla battaglia delle Termopile (con particolare attenzione ai tre versi finali), nonché alcuni aspetti della tradizione oracolare e del contesto narrativo all’interno delle Storie nel quale Erodoto colloca il vaticinio (VII 220).
