Esperienze tiranniche nel Peloponneso arcaico. Tra tradizioni "marginali" e memorie locali

The paper analyzes the theme of marginality from a historiographic and documentary perspective, examining some experiences within Greek tyranny in the Archaic Peloponnese that appear to be of limited relevance and about which we are poorly informed. Although Peloponnese includes some of the most significant manifestations of autocratic power in the Greek world ‑ especially in the poleis of Argos, Corinth and Sicyon ‑ the available sources regarding the poleis of Pisa, Phleius and Epidaurus often give a nebulous picture. We investigate whether the traditions of these poleis are also marginal in terms of memory and literary evidence, i.e. whether we can speak of elaborate traditions or on the contrary of narratives generated in other contexts and from there passed in the historiographic tradition.
