Arco de Tito en el Foro Romano. Conocimiento, documentación, comunicación - Arch of Titus in the Roman Forum: knowledge, documentation, communication

This article deals with the theme of the realisation and representation of an integrated model of the Arch of Titus at the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum in Rome. Starting from a quantitative data acquisition, pursued through the various technologies currently available, attention is focused on the reading and interpretation of the data in order to arrive, through a hierarchical, ontological and semantic decomposition operation, at a model that expresses the geometric qualities of the monument. This critical analysis is also favoured in a particular way in this case study by the tangible results of Stern and Valadier’s restoration, which, through an operation of integrative anastylosis, laid the foundations for an initial decomposition and geometric synthesis of the monument.
