“Attenzione scheletro!” Le Linee guida applicate alla gestione dei resti umani provenienti dai magazzini del Museo Civico Archeologico di Anzio

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Anzio (Rome), opened in 2002 inside the 17th-century Villa Adele, preserves material evidence of the various phases of life and development of the ancient town. The artifacts that make up the museum display, cover a vast span of time and come from various contexts in the surrounding territory. The importance of skeletons in reconstructing the past is well established in the archaeological field, while the need to protect these remains is instead the focus of a recent cultural debate. In this view, this need arose to conduct a reconnaissance of the osteological material in the storerooms and showcases of the Anzio Civic Archaeological Museum.
