Throught this brief contribution, the author aims at leading the reader into the Church and its three cloister of the s. Maria degli Angeli convent structure in Palermo, most commonly known as the «Gancia» of s. Francis’ Minor Friars. Moving from a ‘700 manuscript recently found at the locale city library, the researcher proposes clarifying some historical and artistic aspects, previously thought to be mere conjectures. A whole gamut of the studies on the structure is thus presented, an excursus related to the franciscan de observantia settlement in Palermo and ultimately a clarifying exposition on the conventual ambience, first and foremost, the huge church and secondly the three paramount cloister.

Abstract
Throught this brief contribution, the author aims at leading the reader into the Church and its three cloister of the s. Maria degli Angeli convent structure in Palermo, most commonly known as the «Gancia» of s. Francis’ Minor Friars. Moving from a ‘700 manuscript recently found at the locale city library, the researcher proposes clarifying some historical and artistic aspects, previously thought to be mere conjectures. A whole gamut of the studies on the structure is thus presented, an excursus related to the franciscan de observantia settlement in Palermo and ultimately a clarifying exposition on the conventual ambience, first and foremost, the huge church and secondly the three paramount cloister.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
