The article proposes new attributions for two Roman Baroque terracottas currently held in the Guandalini-Kabaivanska collection (Modena). The female figure appears to be the work of Domenico Guidi, potentially corresponding to the model for the statue of St. Apollonia in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Torano, as recorded in the post-mortem inventory of the sculptor’s studio. The masculine head appears to be the creation of Giuseppe Mazzuoli, potentially serving as a model for the heads of St. John the Baptist in the Church of Gesù and Maria (Rome) and for St. James the Minor in the Brompton Oratory in London (originally located in Siena Cathedral). The discovery of the two terracottas has allowed for a re-examination of the creative and executive processes of the two artists.

Abstract
The discovery of the two terracottas has allowed for a re-examination of the creative and executive processes of the two artists.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
