Del futuro al presente. Evidencia empírica desde la pandemia de COVID-19 sobre los cambios en el trabajo por la tecnología informática

The consequences of the introduction of information technology at work are highly debated, but the discussion has been based much more on hypotheses than on field data. The massive implementation of this technology during the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us to know its effect specifically and research has been developed to closely observe characters and consequences. Here is presented a survey on a sample of employed workers in Italy, conducted after lockdown for the pandemic. Two results are relevant: a) the heterogeneity of work conditions, greater than that hypothesised in the literature; b) the specificity of information technology in offering flexibility and rigidity at the same time, with clear consequences for the quality of works.
