Raccontare la violenza. Lingua, natura e storia

English abstract The essay tackles the relationship between language and gender-based violence through hrough the examination of texts taken the legal field – laws and judgments. The analysis focuses on the locutory level, that is, on the ways in which language accounts for violence. After a brief overview of the relationship between language and law, some judgments will be examined (taken from a corpus relating to the period 2010-2020). The analysis highlights the difficulty in recognizing this phenomenon: the struggle of language to account for a phenomenon that has long remained unexpressed, the obstacles that persist in its use, and the conflict surrounding the meanings that express it.

Il saggio affronta il rapporto tra linguaggio e violenza di genere attraverso l’esame di testi tratti dal terreno giuridico – leggi e sentenze. L’analisi si concentra sul piano locutorio, ossia sulle modalità con le quali la lingua dà conto della violenza. Dopo una prima veloce rassegna del rapporto tra lingua e diritto, si prenderanno in esame alcune sentenze (tratte da un corpus relativo al periodo 2010-2020). L’analisi mette in luce la difficoltà che investe il riconoscimento di questo fenomeno: la fatica della lingua a dar conto di un fenomeno rimasto a lungo inespresso, gli ostacoli che permangono nel suo uso, il conflitto intorno ai significati che la esprimono.
