Gender budgeting: a comparative analysis among Italian universities

This study investigates the theme of gender gap and the policies being pursued to narrow this gap within the Italian academic context through the analysis of gender budgets published by selected universities across the country. Our study reveals persistent significant gender disparities within the composition of Italian universities, regardless of regional affiliation. This research contributes theoretically by enriching the existing body of knowledge in gender studies and non-financial reporting, with a particular focus on the importance of clear and transparent communication in fostering and valuing diversity Keywords: gender budgeting, university, diversity management, Gender Equality
