Il cantiere della sperimentazione. L'esperienza del Muro del vento di Domenico Matteucci

Thanks to the agreement between the degree course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Bologna and the Municipality of Faenza, a pro- ject has been launched which aims to study and restore the sculptures of Outdoor Mu- seum of Faenza. The last intervention concerned the Wall of the wind made by Domenico Matteucci in 1987, a monumental panel made up of 240 molded terracotta tiles fixed with cement mortar on a reinforced concrete support. This study deals with the experimentation of new materials for the conservation of out- door contemporary ceramic artworks. In particular the effectiveness of new materials for desalination, through the application of compresses, and the resistance to atmo- spheric agents of some coatings with artificial and natural aging.
