Le espressioni metaforiche sono davvero strutture difficili? Considerazioni a partire dalla teoria cognitiva della metafora

The various sets of rules for German Leichte Sprache ban the use of metaphors. The present study adopts the framework of the cognitive theory of metaphor and discusses the question whether figurative language can be totally avoided if we want to maintain a functioning language. Metaphor indeed is, even before being a linguistic tool, a constitutive act of thought. Therefore, it appears to be necessary to reflect on the opportunity to distinguish between different types of metaphors, also considering their uses and functions.
