This review discusses Kevin Mulligan's Italian book "Wittgenstein e la filosofia austro-tedesca" (Mimesis, 2014). It argues that Mulligan's interpretation, while offering a helpful systematization of certain connection between Wittgenstein's work and the Austro-German tradition of Brentano, Bolzano et al., does not pay sufficient attention to Wittgenstein's methodological commitment to therapy.
