The massive integration of renewable energy sources, necessary to combat climate change, is hampered by their seasonality and variability. In this context, hydrogen and its carriers (such as ammonia) produced by solar and wind energy can play a fundamental role as energy carriers capable of being stored and distributed through existing infrastructures. This study aims to characterize the possibility of using mixtures of ammonia and hydrogen in operating conditions of industrial interest. In particular, we intend to develop numerical models, based on computational fluid dynamics techniques in order to create networks of chemical reactors, to improve the know- how of energy conversion of hydrogen, ammonia and mixtures, highlighting the limits of use of these fuels.
