In a context of increasing attention to reproductive rights, obstetric violence emerges as a complex and often overlooked reality. during the coVid-19 pandemic, this issue has gained relevance, highlighting challenges and violations of the rights of birthing individuals. This article aimed to explore the phenomenon of obstetric violence, focusing on its defini- tion and international legal recognition, and then delving into the italian context and its peculiarities. Through an analysis of official positions from competent authorities and a glimpse into women’s experiences during the pandemic via a case study, the intention was to provide an overview of the legal-criminological aspects of this theme.
