The 2022 Istat report, focusing on the demographics and composition of Italy, suggests the challenges that will need to be addressed, including by architecture and urban planning, due to the significant increase in the elderly population. It is necessary to identify actions and interventions that foster a circular approach, capable of bringing together the young, adults, and the elderly, in order to manage the future intergenerational imbalance. In line with the objectives of Age-IT, a national partnership funded under the PNRR, dedicated to the challenges of aging, this contribution presents a reflection on how to regenerate our cities based on inclusive principles aimed at defining new models of living and dwelling in the third age. The contribution's goal is to illustrate how cities can become an inclusive system that addresses the needs of the elderly population, mitigating the specter of loneliness and social exclusion.
