L'esperienza di sé come esperienza del tempo in "Voi che 'ntendendo il terzo ciel movete".

“The Lyrical Self between Time and Eternity in Voi che ’ntendendo il terzo ciel movete”. This paper investigates the complex temporal structure of Dante’s canzone, its functioning as narrative vehicle between time and eternity, between the angels – who ignore the ideas of novelty and succession – and the poet, a mortal being that, on the contrary, might be able to access the extra-temporal divine truths, only through the veil of allegory, of plot, i.e. of what exists in time. Following the footsteps of the Liber de causis in Dante’s text, it was possible to unravel the thread of all the different temporalities intertwined in the canzone: the durée of the angel’s intelligence and of its object of contemplation (God), that time of the poet’s intellect and of its object of contemplation (Philosophy) and the temporality of the soul’s quest through memory towards Beatrice.

Questo saggio indaga la complessa struttura temporale della canzone dantesca, vero e proprio medium narrativo e ponte tra eternità e tempo, tra gli angeli – che non hanno «vedere interciso / da novo obietto» (Par. XXIX, 79-80) – e il poeta, essere mortale che, invece, può accedere alle verità eterne, extra-temporali, soltanto attraverso il velo dell’allegoria, della trama e del temporale. Seguendo le tracce lasciate dal Liber de causis nel testo dantesco, è stato possibile ricostruire l’ordito delle diverse temporalità di cui la canzone è intessuta: quella delle intelligenze angeliche e del loro oggetto di speculazione (Dio), quella dell’intelletto del poeta e del suo oggetto di speculazione (Filosofia), quella dell’anima e dell’oggetto, guardato in retrospezione, della sua ricerca memoriale (Beatrice).
