This General Report presents an overview of the papers submitted for the Symposium session dedicated to “Field case studies”. These papers address case studies related to tunnelling and excavation projects carried out in Asia and Europe. The main focus is on the design and implementation of technical solutions to deal with anticipated challenges before construction, as well as on resolving unforeseen issues encountered during project execution. Many of the contributions cover the use of monitoring data, including new technologies, advanced interpretation, or real-time feedback during the excavation process.
