Power systems in road tunnels must guarantee the "critical state for the safety of human life" in the event of a fire and must ensure its service continuity. This article deals with the several problems that jet fan operation presents, such as the high inrush and re-inrush currents in direct starting, and the admissible transient voltage drops. Then, it highlights measures to make more effective the fire mitigation of the emergency ventilation by selecting adequate characteristic for the aimed jet fans to reduce their activation time. In the end the article, two type of models of electrical transformer substations for road tunnels managed with single and double main power supplies in each transformer substation are presented

Abstract
