In this work the breakage of dextrose monohydrate crystals is experimentally investigated. The study consists of sequential measurements of the size distributions of crystals suspended in an aqueous solution inside the measuring cell of a laser light diffraction-based instrument. The results obtained from different crystal samples showed different attrition rates but almost the same size distribution of the generated fragments
