Considering the growing importance of sustainability in contemporary chemistry, this review was devoted to collect and discuss papers dealing with ‘‘green” procedures for introducing bromine atom(s) into organic molecules, a reaction of primary synthetic and industrial importance. Both direct bromination and oxidative bromination are accounted for. The sustainability was critically discussed. When possible, comparison among different procedures was given, in order to facilitate the choice of interested readers.

Abstract
Considering the growing importance of sustainability in contemporary chemistry, this review was devoted to collect and discuss papers dealing with ‘‘green” procedures for introducing bromine atom(s) into organic molecules, a reaction of primary synthetic and industrial importance. Both direct bromination and oxidative bromination are accounted for. The sustainability was critically discussed. When possible, comparison among different procedures was given, in order to facilitate the choice of interested readers.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
