MHD effects are a source of significant uncertainty in the characterization of the in-box LOCA transient since they are expected to affect the PbLi movement and, consequently, the pressure transient in the PbLi loop. This paper aims at providing a preliminary quantification of the MHD effects in a simplified in-box LOCA scenario using analytical tools.

Abstract

MHD effects are a source of significant uncertainty in the characterization of the in-box LOCA transient since they are expected to affect the PbLi movement and, consequently, the pressure transient in the PbLi loop. This paper aims at providing a preliminary quantification of the MHD effects in a simplified in-box LOCA scenario using analytical tools.
