The downturn of 2008 has caused a worsening in life conditions of the Italian households. In 2005-2013 the net income grew of 5% whereas the poverty incidence and the economic distress (inability to make ends meet, difficulty paying food expenditures and inability to eat meat or fish every two days) increased considerably. Here, we analize the households’ poverty and economic distress at territorial level, also taking account of the kind of municipality where people reside.

Abstract
