Umbria nunc revocat: Paesaggio, storia e archeologia di un territorio nell’antichità

The conference offers a moment for updating and comparing recent research that has focused on Umbria in ancient times. Particular attention is given to the interaction between Rome and the Italic populations, in the context of the historical and cultural events of the Hellenistic and Republican era, to the subsequent chronological periods, up to Late Antiquity, and the phases of Christianization of the Region. As a result of human activity in the natural environment, the territory is the central thread connecting the conference meetings. The conference intends to offer an overview of the multiplicity of disciplinary and methodological approaches under which Umbria has been investigated and on the different realities, university and institutional, national, and international, that have dedicated themselves to it.
