The paper aims to analyse dynamics and outcomes of the spread of the Aeneas’ myth among the Latin communities from the earliest evidence to Augustan Age. In particular, our focus will be dedicated to ancient Latium coastal landscape, where several literary sources place the arrival of Aeneas and the most part of his saga in Italy. In this overview, special attention will be paid to places and religious features related to the myth of Aeneas, to their relations with the landscape as a whole – settlement patterns, architectural and productive models – and their changing cultural an political meanings over time.
