Alberto Terenzio a Roma e nel Lazio (1928-1952). Gli interventi d'urgenza, il ripristino (o quasi) dell'architettura e la tutela dell'ambiente monumentale

The conservation and restoration of Medieval and modern monuments of Rome and the Lazio Region between 1928 and 1952 it turned out, through a study of archival records and the observation of the restorations carried out at the time, particularly complex for a variety reasons. Alberto Terenzio, who was in charge of the Roman Regional Board of Cultural Heritage during the long period in consideration, performed mostly managerial duties and often worked in emergency conditions and in objectively problematic contexts, such as the twenty years of fas- cism and the post-war period. The revision of some restoration work directed, overseen or simply supervised by Terenzio is meant not only to better define the outstandingly pragmatic image of this Piacenza-born architect, but above all to capture the unique nature of the monuments in question and of the relevant settings as part of a continuous and uninterrupted history.
