The aim of the speech is to analyse the reconstruction projects for the city of Faenza and its Civic Tower after the destruction of the Second World War. The proposal was carried out by the roman group led by Vincenzo Fasolo, who adheres to the scientific restoration and to the thinking of Giovannoni. This case study highlights the progressive evolution of the discipline of restoration in Italy and Fasolo’s struggles in understanding and applying the new critical demands of conservation.
