The realm of Entrepreneurial Education (EE) has witnessed significant growth in recent years, emerging as a pivotal element in fostering entrepreneurial intention (EI) during the initial phases of entrepreneurial endeavors. The concept of EI, denoting a conscious predisposition towards pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, has garnered considerable attention from both academic researchers and policymakers alike. Various global initiatives, such as those advocated by UNESCO and the European Commission, underscore the imperative of instilling an entrepreneurial ethos, particularly within higher education institutions (HEIs). HEIs are recognized as pivotal hubs for fostering both academic and student entrepreneurship, which in turn, significantly influence national economies and innovation systems. Despite the growing interest in understanding the determinants of entrepreneurship among university students, challenges persist due to limited empirical evidence and datasets. The Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey (GUESSS) project emerges as a promising resource, aiming to explore entrepreneurial attitudes and activities among students across numerous countries. The surge in scholarly interest surrounding EI dynamics and collaborations with the GUESSS project has led to a burgeoning body of research, particularly focused on student entrepreneurship. However, amidst this burgeoning interest, there remains a notable lack of systematic categorization. Thus, this study seeks to address the research question of identifying the predominant thematic areas in scientific research on EI utilizing the GUESSS dataset. Serving as the first literature review of its kind, this study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of research themes and influential papers examining student entrepreneurship within the framework of the GUESSS project. By aligning with broader entrepreneurship datasets and examining the evolving research landscape, this study intends to delineate existing gaps, thereby paving the way for future research endeavors. Ultimately, this systematic approach aims to offer insights into unexplored avenues and guide future research initiatives within the field of entrepreneurial education and student entrepreneurship.
