Michelucci Radicale? Eredità e proiezioni dei progetti urbani e territoriali di Giovanni Michelucci 1950/1980

Giovanni Michelucci and the Radical Architecture of Florence shared dates, places, and events for about a decade. In an academic passage spanning three generations, the students of Giovanni Michelucci's students gave rise to a unique architectural movement in Italy for the power of images and the degree of experimentation. However, the inheritance and intellectual debt that the young Superstudio and Archizoom necessarily had towards the ʹmasterʹ (a role he did not recognize) from Florence have never been thoroughly investigated. The presented essay aims to study, albeit briefly, the outcomes of this architectural lineage by identifying, in Michelucci's unrealized urban and territorial projects, themes and matrices of the second avant-garde before it was recognized as such.

Giovanni Michelucci e l’Architettura Radicale fiorentina hanno condiviso date, luoghi e avvenimenti per circa un decennio. In un passaggio accademico di tre generazioni, gli allievi degli allievi di Giovanni Michelucci hanno dato vita a un movimento architettonico unico in Italia per la potenza delle immagini e il grado di sperimentazione, ma non sono mai stati indagati l’eredità e il debito intellettuale che i giovani Superstudio e Archizoom hanno necessariamente avuto nei confronti del “maestro” (ruolo nel quale egli non si riconosceva) fiorentino. Il saggio presentato si propone di studiare, sebbene in forma breve, gli esiti di questa discendenza architettonica individuando, nei progetti non realizzati a scala urbana e territoriale di Michelucci, temi e matrici della seconda avanguardia prima che questa fosse tale.
