The study intends to investigate intergenerational relations on the basis of the theoretical hypothesis that these relations reproduce on a macro-social scale the same dynamics found within primary recognition relations. By referring to the researches of Honneth, Winnicott and Benjamin, the study intends to underline the importance of the negative moment within primary recognition relations. It is precisely the failure to evaluate this moment that constitutes the main problem in intergenerational relations
