The article aims to outline some aspects that are considered essential to introduce to the legal thought of Francesco Carnelutti and therefore to the world of law, highlighting his idea according to which the science of law cannot be conceived as a closed system but as an open system, in continuous dialogue with what is considered as meta-juridical. Carnelutti is in fact convinced that he has never “worked usefully to know and make known the law as when it seemed to many that he gets away of its limits.”
