The paper is part of the debate on the 15-minute city and the livability of public spaces. Their design and vision as a structural frame determine the functioning and vitality of contemporary cities. Through the institutional and grey literature review, the article argues that we can underpin urban regeneration mainly through three design principles: proximity (meant as the diversity of places and variety of uses), continuous networks (for the environment and active mobility), and the activation of communities in the processes of caring for places (for the maintenance of their identities in an evolutionary key).

Abstract
The paper is part of the debate on the 15-minute city and the livability of public spaces. Their design and vision as a structural frame determine the functioning and vitality of contemporary cities. Through the institutional and grey literature review, the article argues that we can underpin urban regeneration mainly through three design principles: proximity (meant as the diversity of places and variety of uses), continuous networks (for the environment and active mobility), and the activation of communities in the processes of caring for places (for the maintenance of their identities in an evolutionary key).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
