We are the successors of traditionally nomadic humanity. Since Neolithic times, this regime of life connected to the lack of stable settlement continues to exist in the era of globalization. In recent years, especially with Covid-19, the rise of the digital labor market has spurred the growth of the digital nomad community, which arose as a consequence of a sense of oppression by social and bureaucratic logic. This opens up reflections regarding various concepts: tradition, identity, forms of territoriality, liquidity, the importance of virtual and real community, and the use of technology. On the grand scale, the acceleration in communication routes and the more immedi- ate usability of information have led to a rethinking of the concept of distance, thus causing an increasingly strong connection between different territories. Today’s society is the result of a long process of transformation that is still taking place; we live in an open and hyperconnected society that is increasingly multiethnic and international. The ter- ritory, therefore, is no longer a datum, but an element in the making, the authentic representation of an evolving context implemented by the subjects that are part of it. The loss of consistency of geographic distances has had consequences on a small scale. The culture of living has seen formulas such as coworking and coliving the explosion shaped primarily by work and the need to overcome the isolation that nomads bring. This opens up a scenario of questions that, in part, have been subjected to a qualitative investigation into the future of this phenomenon. The result is new insights, especially concerning the new meanings that the practice of living is acquiring.
